Practice

Simple practices for walking in truth, listening to the Spirit, and discerning together.

Week of July 6th, 2026
This week's practice: Choose one individual practice and one community practice as you learn to walk with the Holy Spirit, test what you are receiving, remember your identity in Christ, and discern truth in community.

Choose one or two

Do not try to do everything. Choose one individual practice and, if possible, one community practice. Commit them to prayer and practice them with openness, honesty, and surrender to Jesus.

Individual Practices

Set aside time this week to pray specifically to the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to help you know Jesus more deeply and to guide you into truth.

Simple step: Choose one quiet moment each day to speak to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to lead you toward Jesus.

When you consume content this week - podcasts, social media, or news - pause and ask: "What spirit is behind this? Does this lead me closer to Jesus or away from Him?"

Simple step: Before receiving or repeating an idea, pause and test where it is leading your attention, affection, and surrender.

Write 1 John 4:4 on a card and place it somewhere you'll see daily. Let it remind you of who lives in you.

Simple step: Put it on your mirror, phone lock screen, journal, dashboard, or desk and read it aloud each day.

Community Practices

Bring questions or confusing teachings to this group. Practice discerning together in a safe, grace-filled environment.

Simple step: Name one question honestly and invite trusted believers to help you discern what leads toward Jesus.

Share one area where you're struggling to know truth from error, and commit to pray for each other throughout the week.

Simple step: Ask one person, "Where do you need discernment this week?" Then pray for them regularly.

Choose one Gospel to read through together over the next month, focusing on who Jesus claimed to be and what He accomplished.

Simple step: Choose Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John and set a simple rhythm to read and discuss it together.

Carry it into the week

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern what is true, remember who you are in Christ, and walk with Jesus in the ordinary moments of your week.
